justice is a goal but revenge is a strategy

Tzedakah - meaning righteousness, fairness or justice - Justice, when applied to God, describes the way God is. God's justice is not something external to Him. He is infinitely righteous within Himself. When God acts justly He is not doing so to conform to some outside criteria; some law or principle or standard outside Himself. He is simply acting like Himself in any given situation. God is His own self-existent principle of moral equity.
Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
Proverbs 24:17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
Remember justice is a goal but revenge is a strategy. Revenge is a strategy to feed a desire to payback to someone a wrong doing that was done to you directly or indirectly. Revenge is just a way of lowering your self to the standers of the ones who did you wrong.
That is, "justice" is what you’d agree is fair BEFORE finding out what’s going to happen in the world. Justice is unchanging. The “becomer’s Edge” as Jeremy Flagg would say is that we have Grace & Mercy on our side, but that is another post.
While I don’t condone what Bin Laden did I also don’t condone the emotional response from Christians that are hailing his death. Am I glad he is no longer on the Earth; my initial response is yes. Because of the terror he caused. Let’s not ensnare ourselves in something that can be avoided with a little wisdom. I too have to watch my emotional response and desire to feel like this was “Justice”.

Religion is a God

At what point do we give up the relationship we came into for a religious experience?

Ignorance is Bliss...

...When you trust in God.

I have come to the realization that my plans mean nothing and my speculation of what the future holds amounts to the sum of my worry and desire to control everything around me.

I have accepted that sometimes ignorance as to what God has is bliss. largely due to the fact God has chosen this path for me, I have accepted to follow him, and therefore have no control since I give it all to Him.

It makes no since to hand God the keys to empower me and then take it back when I don't think He is doing it right. That would be like trying to tell you parents they are wrong when they dont allow you to go to a party with drugs and alcohol.

When we try and take back the control from God it only reveals our own lack of maturity and communication with God. If our relationship suffers so does our trust, God has wired you like that just accept it. It is a law of the created universe, anything not maintained will decay.

If you start believing, then you start trusting, then you will start becoming.

Month 2 into the new Year

Well God had something in mind with the calling and vision that he gave use that we did not expect. We do have the people that we knew would be the core group, but they are people we had never met before. It is at a church that is already been established and it is going to be a life changing journey in 2011. that i all for now...can't wait to start posting more.

Faith Working Like a Dog

Faith with out works is dead. My last post I shared what God was doing in our lives and the amazing promise He has given us. well about two weeks after that post God sent me some amazing resources and mentors that I can draw from. I am glad I stepped out in faith and spoke the words that God asked me to share.

Because of the stepping out in faith God has blessed us with not only a direction, but also the means of getting there. I feel like all the things that God has been speaking to me for the last 15 years about is coming together and I can see where God has orchestrated everything in my life to bring me here with my Wife and Family. Word of the month, AMAZING!!

The Dream, The Vision, The Prayer

Let me start off by saying this has been such an amazing year that I am looking forward to see what God is going to do next. We have made some huge transitions over the last 7 - 9 months and God has moved upon us and taken us way our of our comfort zone in just about every area of our lives. This blog is to inform and get the Vision cast out there so God can do what He will.

There was a lot the led up to this Dream & Vision, but to keep this short I will share the last 7 - 9 months of happenings.

The Dream:

God Gave my wife a dream while we where searching for the next level that God wanted to take us to. God was moving us out of the place we where in into something new and different. We felt it was planting a church. God came to my wife in a dream and give her a vision of us (with a team of people) growing a small group into a huge group of people to further the Kingdom. The Dream was amazing you can read the whole thing here

The Vision:

God shortly after the Dream give me a vision while attending River Of Life Family Church. During worship services he showed me leaving the old fulfilled promises and moving into another level through an opened door of His new promises again you can read the whole thing here. The Vision was to show that He was starting a new movement and we where to be apart of it and Plant a church with a group of people.

The Prayer:

The core group of the Church that we are called to plant will be formed before the end of 2010. In the beginning of 2011 we will start having church services and reach 500+ people for the Kingdom.

We are believing that God will fulfill His promise and we are praying with audacious faith that we are going to move into this promise. This is a public proclamation that we are expecting God to be our guide and position us in the right place to get started in the natural what has already be released in the supernatural. Please join with us in praying this prayer of audacious faith. You can send us your prayer request as well if you would like us to pray for you.

Fulfilling your purpose, while waiting on the Promise

Luke 2:49 - And he said to them, How is it that you sought me? knew you not that I must be about my Father's business?

I have a huge Promise from God that is about to explode and waiting for it has been both exciting, yet frustrating. Something God spoke to me about in this time of waiting is fulfilling my purpose, while waiting on His Promise. Jesus demonstrated this perfectly as a 12 year old boy teaching to the priest. It was not until he was 30 that he was baptized and started his ministry and the promise God had on his life came to pass, but at an early age he was fulfilling his purpose.

Sometimes we get in a place where we are frustrated because the Promise is on it's way, but not here yet so we tend to go stagnate. A lesson learned here is to fulfill your purpose as a worshiper, an ambassador, a child of the King and be the salt and light of this world. Because it is in fulfilling your purpose that you can receive the Promise of God.

agricultural promises

Something really cool I read from this book I am reading, "a call to die" by David Nasser regarding the principal of sowing and reaping. He said what you sow you reap what you sow, more then you sow, and after you sow. This is either great news for you or bad news depending what you sow.

If you are sowing nothing, but trouble it is going to come back on you and then some...think about it, if you plant one apple seed in the ground and that seed grows to be and apple tree (reaping what you sow) that tree produces more then just one apple (reaping more then you sow) and it took some time for that tree to grow and mature to produce the fruit (reap after you sow).

So I ask you what are you sowing? Because what ever it is it is going to come back multiple times over. The Choice is you.

Can't Grow with out Rain

New Living Trans:
In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike

Just like every good home owner I am over seeding my lawn and putting things on it to grow and look oh' so pretty and green. I keep it trim and neat so that it looks nice, and to tell you the truth I don't get sited by the city for it being to long.

I was spreading grass seed the other day so that I can try and get grass to grow and choke out the weeds and lettuce looking vegetation that seems to be growing. I was reminded of a portion of scripture in Mathew 5:

⁴³"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' ⁴⁴But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, ⁴⁵that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. ⁴⁶If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? ⁴⁷And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? ⁴⁸Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

God Blesses everyone, not just those that serve him so who are we to be any different? Are we better then God? What got me thinking was that the water and sunlight that is going to make my grass seeds grow is the same water and sunlight that is going to make the weeds grow.

If you look up weed it is just defined as a nuisance plant so it is all based on if you want that plant to be there or not. Grass becomes a weed when it is in your flower beds or flower planters. So do we define some people as weeds when we look at them when God sees us all as a diverse group of people in different stages in our blossoming? Do we slap labels on someone because they look different and don't fit out "culture"? If so, maybe we need to change our personal culture to be that of Jesus, not the American Culture that has corrupted the Religious community.

I was then reminded when Got took Peter in Acts 10: 9-48 where he told him to preach the gospel to the gentiles. Peter said they are unclean, but God replied with, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

So in the case of souls It is good that God sheds his light on the just and the unjust, and causes the rain to fall on the good and the bad. If you did not go through "storms" you may not even know God. Most of us come to Him through the adversity of life and the storms we go through. It is those same storms that cause us to draw closer to Him and build a relationship that is even deeper.

So the rain is meant to help us grow no matter what stage in our relationship with God we are in. So when the rain enjoy it because it is bringing you closer to Jesus. If you are not in your rainy season, look for someone who is,even your enemies, and bless them. who knows maybe the storm will make them a better person and your enemy will become your best friend.

Health Care

I have been following politics for some time now and watch closely the left, the right, and the centrist. I am registered Independent. I try to make educated and informed decisions when it comes to my vote and what my part is in shaping the future of this country. The problem is I don't think we have a voice any more. The American People are kept out of the loop. I heard one comment. "The Only the affairs of Tiger Woods have been kept a better secret than what is in the bill that is being voted on during the Blizzard of 2009 at 1:00 a.m. on a Monday morning of Christmas week. It would be bad enough if just the people across America were not allowed to know what is in the bill but only a handful of the Senators have read what they are voting on as a bill that will impact one-sixth of our economy."

"We have heard this past week from President Obama that he would sign any Health Care bill no matter what is in it. We have heard Pelosi tell the Senate to not worry what is in the bill but just to pass it. We have learned that a special Medicare exception equaling six billion dollars a year has been promised for the state of Nebraska to gain the vote of one Senator. We have learned that there has been a new Louisiana Purchase with billions going to a Senator from Louisiana for her vote. We have learned late this last week that the polls say a majority of people want health care reform but also a majority of people do not like this current health care that they congress is attempting to pass and even most believe that it will make things worse.The House bill has been written by Nancy Pelosi and the Senate by Harry Reed. Why would we trust one-sixth of our economy to these two muchless our healthcare."

This is something I think everyone needs to understand at some point in their life. Would you consider signing this after you read and full understand what it stands for? If you don't take a stand for what you believe you will see everything you love and trust in trampled by those who would like to blanket the world with what they believe. Apathy is a terrible, but true characteristic of of American society and it is pouring into the church. We have to stop it!

Government Health Care

Ok, so if my tax money is paying for medical procedures that are for the convenience of other why can't I use it for getting plastic surgery, liposuction, or hair transplants for my receding hairline? If a women can have an abortion and our tax dollars pay for it then I want my nose done. After all, it is all in the name of convenience right.

I am not saying all 3,700 treasurers are silenced each day in the United States are done out of convenience, but statics show that they are not all done because the mothers are rape victims.

Here are some reasons some people feel it is ok to murder young unborn life.

• 21% Inadequate finances
• 21% Not ready for responsibility
• 16% Woman’s life would be changed too much
• 12% Problems with relationship; unmarried
• 11% Too young; not mature enough
• 8% Children are grown; woman has all she wants"

Election Time

OK, it is time to vote in a new Commander and Chief. I know that God has all things in control and nothing can happen with out his approval. He is the one who grants authority and allows are leaders to be in the place they are. My main concern is is he going to allow corrupt leaders to take office to test the Church or bring the US back to there roots in Christ and the Church will not be up to the test. He did it in the past with the Children of Israel. When they where getting out of line and wanted to have their own way he would give it to them and they would fall captive to another ruler.

Now is the time for the Church to stand up and and make our voice heard that we are not going to sit idly by and let the Lexus cages and a fast food mentality enslave us to convenience and an easy lifestyle. Thomas Jefferson said, every generation needs a revolution. I think it is time that we have our eyes open to the fact that we are oppressed in our own country, not in the way that dictators oppress, but in the way you get mass amounts of people to join a cult... brain wash them and make them think they can't survive outside of the group. We need to shake off the ternary of mass socialist mind sets and be the leaders and providers of our own futures.

We live in the greatest country in the world...Lets keep it that way - VOTE 2008 to give freedom a chance.

God of Everything!

It has been some time since I last posted anything, having a growing family will test your time management skills to the limit. We are excited and seeing God to wonderful things in and through our lives. We are seeing lives being changed and God working in the lives in our friends and neighbors.
God is opening up doors in our lives to minister to people who are having issues with there marriage. perhaps this is a new avenue of ministry for us...we will see

God is reminding me that the US economy does not dictate my financial situation as God has all things under his control and nothing can happen with out his approval. He is God, we are letting him be God in every area of our lives; including finances.

OK, So I have expanded my Social reach and joined Facebook, I have found a lot of friends I have not spoken to in years and found some that I see everyday, but they never bothered to invite me. :) I just assumed they thought I new about facebook, and I did, and just did not have a page.
To tell you the truth I hope this will help be keep in touch with my old friends and some new ones that I meet when we open up the Destiny Campus in April. who knows what is going to happen, that is one of the greatest things about serving God. Not knowing what is going to happen, but knowing whatever does is going to awesome!

New Campus

It is official Destiny is expanding its reaches into Illinois, the Columbia/Waterloo area to be exact. Those are my old stomping grounds from when I was a teenager so this will be a really cool season in my life. We feel that God wants us to help with the new campus that is going to be started there.
There are so many opportunities to reach thousands of people in that area. We are also going to focus on the South County, MO Reagen as well. We have several people in our church already that live in this area so that will be a great relief on the gas bill, less drive. The way this is being done is remarkable, we are basically taking a core group of people from Destiny (Main) and planting them in another location with the same existing model and structure that is working. God is moving in so many ways and growing His kingdom I can't wait to see what he does next.

Two very cool things happened this past weekend.

First, I saw an old teacher from Collage who at our churches men meeting who was blowing me away with his desire to commit to God and how much he already is working to further the kingdom of God.

Second, our Friday service was delayed while people who did not plan on getting baptized began to listen to the call of God's Spirit to take there relationship to the next level. The weekend service was a really good one.

Transformation from selfish Americanized religious Christians to true children of God has begin in the churches of St. Louis. It is Heb 12:1 time where we get rid of the junk that weighs us down and become a lean contender for Christ. The only way this can happen is to (to steal Nike's old slogan) Just DO IT! Get with the Holy Spirit of God and do some house cleaning and have him re-prioritize your life. That is what is going on in our lives right now.

I used to think that I was doing what 2Cor 6:17 said and become separate from this world, but then Holy Spirit has show me how much we really are NOT separate, but just fit in with the rest of the main stream religions groups. With so many people who are into religion the only way to separate yourself is to forfeit the religious experience for a personal relationship.

I can't believe what God is doing

Fist off I want to start this off with a, " I can't believe what God is doing statement". So much has changed in so little time that it is hard to even comprehend that this is happening. Most, if not all, is in the spiritual realm and is coming to fruition in the physical now.
God is challenging us on every level showing us we don't have to get drug down with the weights that come not only with our culture (i.e bad eating habits, laziness, & self absorption) we can live our lives to serve other and be even more fulfilled then if we where to stay selfish human beings.
I was some what convicted in my heart this past Sunday with one of our pastors Mike Plane was speaking and he said, "We are not used to living this way and being used like this (Speaking of the transformation of God that is happening to our people), but this is what we are made to do."
The thought that I was not fulfilling my created purpose weighted heavy on me and still does. So much so that I am actively doing things to change it. Everything I am for his kingdoms cause is my new model.
If you see your self fulfilling the purpose of everything other than what you where created to do, remember, love God, love others, and seek the kingdom. These are the first steps to getting back on track.

Well, Last Sunday was even more incredible then the last one. God moved in the supernatural in ways I have never experienced nor seen before. There was a huge opposition against what was going to happen in that service, but God pushed us through it and incredible things happen and strong holds where torn down.
It was like Destiny was telling the offensive spirits of St. Louis, we are here, we are taking a stand, and we are now taking over. (Matthew 11:12)
To paint a word picture would not do it justice. The beginning of the service was somewhat normal, but there was an expectation due to the previous Sunday service. My mind was being attacked and it was hard to break through and focus on God. I was praying and trying to get focused, but it seem to be a lost cause. Then it was like Father God came in and said my children will be victorious. Then words of knowledge and prophetic words begin to be spoken. Chains where falling off of peoples life like worn and tattered cloths revealing the holy nature of God underneath. Spiritual shackles where falling off like rain, and broken hearts and sicken bodies where made whole again.
The curses and demonic forces that oppress the city of Saint Louis knows where Destiny is now, if they did not already. We started a war that has crippled the forces of darkness in our city and is crushing the courses that have long plagued our area. God is breaking the back of the enemy and he is using his people how are humbling them selves, seeking after him, and serving him like we ought to and not like Americanized religion teaches.
God demonstrated to his people that his presence, not his presents, is better that receiving his stuff (blessings). Our church as a whole has become a Seeker after the presence of God, not his presents.
...and to think that we only experience a small portion of the glory of God, that makes me hungry for more.

A Service to Remember and build on

Last Sunday was quite possibly one of the most phenomenal services I have ever been in. For all of you who don't go to Destiny Church We have two identical services on Sundays. Jim Stern my pastor also commented on it on his Blog, The power of God rested on that place that there was no second service, it was just pure worship and interaction with God.
The experience left me hungry, wanting more, and filled with expectancy everyday that God's Presences is here in my life. I have found my self wanting to have that type of experience not just in a corporate worship environment, but also in my home and person devotion.

The Start

I have been inspired to Blog. I am a Christian and love to share my testimony and the latest of what God is doing in my life. Here I want to share, document, and chronicle all that God is doing in our lives.
I have a few hobbies and interest that put me in categories ranging from computer geek to musician to grease monkey. In everything that is done in my life I aim to give God the credit since he is the one how makes all things possible.
